I remember Vicky sending that quote to me once (a long time ago). I think it's from Only Human by Tom Holt (A book I gave up reading halfway because I was bored. Amusing, but boring. Does that make sense?) So anyway I realised that it's completely true, and I have now come to realise that it is a good quote and thus am typing this out now. Because I need to be more nerdy and wordy and less emo and angsty. 8-) Heh.

And I wanted to write more about this 'realisation', but I do have a tendency to ramble and completely miss the point, so I shall spare you. =)

The Oracle Prophecies

Currently reading last book of The Oracle Prophecies trilogy by Catherine Fisher, Day of the Scarab, and it's really good. Due tomorrow, so I have to finish it fast. I seem to be renewing my books all the time.

I seem to have lost the button to change the font colour. Hello button, I want you back.

Birthday Blues

Hi I'm sixteen now and I realised some things that make me feel horrible. Content of these realisations are too classified to post, but suffice to say it was/is not a very good day. I mean, Racial Harmony Day was fun and all, with a lot of camwhoring going on (=)), but aside from that it kind of sucked.

Listening to my new Aqualung CD now, it's nice but not the same as older songs. More mainstream. But still good.

Thanks Sam Yee (not that you'll read this), for giving me two of the best presents I've received this year (and maybe even longer).

Okay this may sound weird, but I think Aqualung sounds a bit like Stereophonics. They're very different though.

I feel horriblehorriblehorrible. (Okay maybe not that bad, because you can't be completely unhappy with Aqualung and the second pack of twisties for the day) And you're not helping matters any.

Spoilers for Across the Nightingale Floor by Lian Hearn:
WHY. I had to suffer through this with Delaunay and Alcuin, and now it's Shigeru. CAN'T YOU GUYS JUST HAVE HAPPILY EVER AFTERS. Okay maybe it wouldn't be so fun, but still. Emotional trauma for the readers and all. And I see many, many parallels between this and Kushiel's Dart.

Takeo/ Phèdre- Protagonists of book, have special abilities. Both trained to be spies (in Takeo's case, an assassin too) Have encountered personal tragedies, aka going home to find people they love murdered. Inherit mentor's estate.

Anyway here are the parallels. Takeo/ Phèdre, Shigeru/ Delaunay, Kaede/ Joscelin, Kenji/ Cecelia+Melisande, Lady Maruyama/Prince Rolande. That's all I can think of. Can't find someone for Alcuin, but it might be Lady Maruyama. If only I were this obsessed with my lit texts.

Okay I wanted to put both Takeo and Phèdre were adopted by their mentors, but that means Delaunay would have adopted Alcuin too, and then he'd be sleeping with his son. Ewwwwwwwwwwwwww. Anyway Delaunay never really officially adopted them.

Okay, I'm not feeling so horrible now. I'm still kind of angry at you, but that's another story for another day.

Edit- I love my section! Thanks guys! Listening to SYF recording of Da Pacem Domine, the band sounds fantastic, but I feel disgusted by my playing. Miss band.

Extra Ordinary Thing

Extra Ordinary Thing was stuck in my head today. Actually, a whole bunch of Aqualung songs took turns. But mostly Extra Ordinary Thing. Which is why my foolscap pad and random pages of my books are vandalised.

Not the point. My aunt came to my house today to give me my present! Memory Man and something else! I am dying to open it, but I have to refrain from doing so.

Further news, am playing for the fiesta on sunday! At the Botanical Gardens. Starts at 5 pm I think, feel free to come down and watch. =)

Aside from my Howl's Moving Castle dilemma (sp?), today's been a happy day. It's Friday the 13th after all. =)
